We vision to develop an action plan that will encompass continued D.A. World Service Conference committee work and encourage participation at a local level.
Our vision is to meet each month (*except August and December), to enhance our connections with New York Intergroup and it’s activities, demonstrated with a GSR section on the D.A.NYC.org website. Our Spending Plan has a visioned figure as we fundraise to support our GSRs to attend WSC. Our group keeps its records with clarity, to carry the message, as part of our legacy. In this online age, we see our Outreach to be including, and beyond, our geographic region. We hold a vision live recovery in being part of the sponsor-a-group process. We could be sponsored or sponsor -a-group, ideally an emerging GSR group. We intend to form closer connections with the other two GSR meetings www.NorCalDA.org GSR Meeting #1298 SoCal Regional Area Group #16700 to share Regional Area Service ESH, as part of our Global Fellowship. We live and share our Fellowship's Inclusivity Statement – now, and in future.
We are grateful that a GSR Area Group exists for the Greater New York region and the eastern time zone (EST UTC−05:00, EDT UTC−04:00). We invite all members to visit as guests, and to be of service, in strengthening their experience, strength and hope, for themselves and their regions.
As part of the World Service Conference Structure, our purpose as Group Service Representatives (NY GSR’s) is to be the link between each individual registered D.A. meeting and the World Service Conference (WSC). Our regional area service meeting is termed a D.A. ‘group’, not an ‘intergroup.’ We meet monthly and discuss D.A. issues as a whole, and those that affect the Greater New York Area. We have a Spending Plan, we support GSRs to attend WSC.
Our GSR’s responsibly perform the function of two way communication between WSC, it’s committees and local groups. We communicate financial and other needs of D.A., reporting news of the conference activities to our local groups. We receive information from the General Service Office (GSO), we transmit our group's ideas, opinions and local news to the Office and the General Service Board (GSB). We support all D.A.’s trusted servants to keep a “finger on the pulse” of D.A. In our communication, the GSO and the GSB can better understand and respond to our region's needs.
Our suggested qualifications to participate as a NY GSR is to have abstained from debting for 1 year, be actively working the 12 Steps, have read the 12 Traditions (in the 12x12x12 c-a book), had 2 or more PRGS, and be an active member of a local group based anywhere. We request GSRs to take 3 year terms. Note We invite all members to visit as guests, and to take up service positions, in strengthening their experience, strength and hope, for themselves and their regions.
